Coil balance identification

Home Owner from Rhode Island
Dear Sir,

I am trying to identify the certain type of coil balance used used in my windows. From looking at your photos, I see that the brand of window that I have are Certainteed. I looked at the coil balance and did not see a part number printed on the end. All that is printed on the end is the letter "C". I would like to order a couple of these, but want to make sure I order the correct spring tension for my windows. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Joe

Hello Sir,
I am just following up on the part identifier request. I understand that your office must be busy with lots of requests. I didn't know if my request somehow got lost in the weeds as it had been a few days. I remember using this service before and having great results.

Thank you,
Joe

Thanks for your patience! Please see our 15-177 pivot shoe and Series 152 coil spring. I think you'll find these match your parts quite well.

Thank you Donna,

I was just wondering. As a novice though, how would I figure out what weight to choose from the 152 coil that you offer. The only thing that I can see stamped on my coil is the letter "C".

Is there a way to determine the weight needed?

Thank you
Joe

Typically, "C" corresponds to a 3 pound spring strength. A good way to confirm is to weigh your sash on a scale, then divide that among all the springs used for that sash. For example, if your sash weighs 20 pounds and you have four springs, you would want 5 pound springs.
