Coil balance parts

Question

I recently ordered replacement parts, but they do not work for this window.  Can you help me identify the correct coil balance and the shoe for this window project?  Thank you.  -Christopher.

Hello. Sorry to hear the 15-192 Pivot Shoe and the Series 170 springs you bought did not work. The issue is I believe you have an old Simonton Coil Balance system. This system looks very, very similar to the Certainteed model, but over the years we've learned they are not interchangeable. The 15-192 shoe has those alignment 'nubs' on its surface that make it too thick for the window. Some customers have been able to rub down those nubs to get it to fit; but other have claimed this does not work. Keep in mind if you try that, modified items cannot be returned for refunds.

Because this problem comes up a lot, we took it upon ourselves to find a substitute for the old Simonton assembly. You can use the 15-259 Pivot Shoe, along with Series 159 Coil Balances. We have a video that explains the conversion. Check it out below and let me know if you have questions.
