Coil balance replacement/pivot bar replacement.

Quick Learner from Massachusetts
Afte more inspection, the top coil says 406 J and then the bottom spring says 405 J and then the pivot bar. Also is there a cover that hold it in place available also?

Hello there. This is a Simonton Coil Balance system that is no longer made, but the Series 159 Coil Balance springs and 15-259 Pivot Shoe can replace it. The video below shows how to do this, and also explains the other hardware you need. Let us know if you have questions.

Is that a replacement that supplements both the springs and are there pivot bars to order? And do the stamps signify the weight or so I have to weigh the sash myself?

The 15-259 Pivot Shoe, Series 159 Coil Balance springs, 26-083 Pivot Bars and all else listed in the video I posted above are sold separately. For the spring weights, give me the exact weight of your window sash. I can calculate what you need.

The total weight of the sash is 16.6-17 pounds so 7.5 or 8.5. Also, are there plastic covers to hold the assembly together?

If the sash weighs exactly in the range of '16.6-17' pounds, then use the S159-08 8.5 pound spring, one on each side of the sash. That will give you 17 pounds of total support, close enough to the exact weight. As for the coil covers, as the video I posted above shows, you can use the 15-255 single supports.

Alright, thank you! The order will be placed when the part is in stock and to my understanding the single coil replaces the double coil assembly entirely?

It's more important to match the sash weight, with half that weight on both sides of the sash (so, for instance, a 16 pound sash having 8 pounds of support on both sides), rather than matching the exact quantity of coil springs that you previously had. All that matters is hitting that proper support weight. Let us know if you have further questions!
