Coiled spring used to help raise the window

Home Owner from PA
Trying to repair a window that won't open. I toom the window out of the track and slipped it back into the horse shoe part. But the spring in the plastic is broken or unable to work properly.

Hello, thank you for posting,

Your pivot shoe resembles the 15-199 style that is 17/32" thick by 1-1/4" wide. Please review below. The shoe is compatible with either the 1/2" series 160 or the 3/8" thick series 165 coil springs. You will need to remove the coil balance assembly to measure properly to confirm the correct series needed. The series will determine the style of cover needed as well that can be viewed on the related items section on the series product page.

I have related a few videos on the page for assistance.

Each coil spring should have a number stamped on the metal that indicates the weighted option needed. If there are no markings, please provide the weight of the window sash to move forward.

It also appears that a new tilt latch is needed. Start by taking a look at and comparing the dimensions of the 26-243 and 26-244. Let us know what you think and if you have any questions.
