Crank out window operators

A home owner from Wisconsin says:
I have one right handed casement window and one left handed. The crank on the left works but the operator keeps getting stuck at the hinge and stud bracket on the left. The one on the right the crank only opens the window, when I try and close it the gears won't catch. The window are over 25 years old. They say Entry Guard Truth. 61-95P, and 31538. Any help finding parts would be great. Thanks

Thanks for posting. To start, see our 39-031 & 39-032 Dual Arm Operators, or our 39-155 & 39-156 Operators. Compare the dimensions listed for both sets of operators with your old parts, and see what might be a closer match. If you need a new cover and crank handle, see our 39-107 & 39-205. They are compatible with either set of operators.

Now, to determine if you need to replace the left-hand operator as well, I suggest you remove the operator from the window and then try to move the casement window by hand. If it still gets caught, then it is likely the hinge that needs to be replaced. See our 36-048 and see if this might work for you. If your stud brackets are undamaged you ought to be able to re-use them, but if you need new ones, take a look at our 39-516 and 39-517. Compare all these parts with your old components and let us know if you think these could work for you.
