Do I have to replace my entire window?

Question

We cannot find these anywhere and the windows are not that old. I called a window company and they told me I had to replace the entire window? I have 8 windows that need these pivot locks! Please help! We move in 2 weeks and these need to be replaced.

Hello,

The good news is, you don't need to replace the window. This is a t-lock shoe similar to our 15-194 but, unfortunately, ours won't work with your balance due to the groove in the front of your shoe that ours doesn't have.

For this reason, you'll need to replace the balances with our S795 channel balances with a 1" 15-194 to replace the stock 1-1/4" 15-195 that the balance comes with. Keep in mind that our balances install using a screw tab and many of these types of balances use hooks that anchor the balance to the jamb. If yours uses a hook, you may be able to adapt your window to use the screw tab using the 26-200 screw plug if the cut out where the hook installs is square. Take a look and see what you think.
