Double hung window springs

Quick Learner from San Diego, CA

I'm replacing 40+ year old double hung window springs. The old spring tubes are about 25 1/2 inches long and the tips are blue. I'll need to order about 14 springs, but at this point I'd only like to order two to make sure I get the right product.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Geoff,

Thanks for reaching out to us! Your tilt window spiral balance can be replaced with either the 5/8" diameter S600-26 or the 3/8" diameter S900-26. To determine which of these is the correct replacement, you'll need to confirm the measurement for the diameter of the tube.

Since your balance has a blue tip, it is likely you have the S600-26 but it would be a good idea to double check. If you find that you actually need the S900-26, you can select the green tip.

Keep in mind you may need to adjust the position of the installation screw at the top of the window to accommodate for the difference in the length.
