Bought a new house. Windows dont work well. Found out balance springs were replaced with wrong tensions (or that is at least what nice Home Depot employee told me)....BUT I dont know what to replace them with. Also impossible to find out here unless I go to "specialty" glass store...
So here are the specs:
Window 1) L 33.5" x H 29 3/8-1/2" 16-17lbs Balance spring removed was 27" metal channel, 9/16" width and had number of 2630 (with a BS1 od by this number)
Window 2) L 45 5/8" X H 29 3/8, 31-32 lbs, 27 inch metal channel 9/16" width and had a number 26DS33 (with a BS1 oc in between the 26DS and the 33, 26DS BS1 oc 33)
Window 1 wouldnt go down all the way and was cockeyed (tilted) didnt go up and down smoothly. Window 2 wouldnt raise or close without a ton of force, tilted as well. So much so that I had to use majority of my weight to close and lock it...
If you have any suggestions I am all ears...If your 28" metal channel will work please let me know. Thank you very much for your assistance!

Hello,
I'm afraid I cannot identify what you have based on this information alone. The stamp only indicates the spring strength calibration and is not otherwise used to identify your balance. I recommend that you look at our Channel Balance Home Page and follow the steps in order to find the Series that best matches what you have.
If you can't find a match, please show us a picture of the top nylon attachment and a picture of the bottom nylon attachment and we will do our best to find a replacement. Thank you!
