Exterior lock for Anderson 3 panel sliding patio door - left operating

Quick Learner from Westfield, PA USA
I am looking for a replacement lock for my Anderson 3 panel sliding patio door - left operating. Pictures of the existing one and exterior housing are attached. The latch ass'y has the following numbers - 2573558 and 7700-14. The outside lock housing number is 7162A and 1997286/ The mounting screw holes in the lock housing are about 2 9/16". The latch assembly works fine. Any help will be much appreciated

Thanks

Thanks for writing in. I'm not sure if Andersen still offers this type of key lock. I see in a past discussion here Paul recommended that you see if the 82-310 could work as a substitute for your key cylinder. I'm afraid this still may be our best option. Did you try it, and if so what did you find?

The part # 82-310 did not fit into the exterior lock housing and the flat shaft that connects the lock to the inside handle is attached the 82-310 lock. On my door this shaft is attached to the inside handle. What's next??

Hm, have you taken a look at one of the newer Andersen key locks, like the 82-316 (left) or 82-317 (right)? Maybe one of these would work as a total replacement for the key lock and housing. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Can you send me drawings of these so I can verify if they will fit properly?

Thanks

See the photos below of the dimensions of the 82-316 (left). Let me know what you think.

I think this may work, however to make sure, could you send me the center line dimension of the mounting holes and the center line dimension between the bottom mounting hole and the lock. Also the thread size of the mounting screw holes.

Would I need the mating inside latch (#82-043) or should my present one work? The shaft size is about .090 thick and 1/4' wide

Also need to verify which lock I would need. My door is a 3 panel and standing on the outside, the lock is on the right side of the center panel which slides to the left.

Thanks for your help

Thanks for bearing with us during this very busy season. The distance between each mounting hole on the 82-316 and 82-317 is 2-1/2". The distance between the center of the locking mechanism and the bottom mounting hole is about 5/8". I'd have to see a picture of your older latch to confirm if it's just an older style of our 82-043. Otherwise, you might wish to go with the 82-043 to be safe.

The hand-orientation of the 82-316 and 82-317 is determined from the outside of the door looking in, and describes the movement of the operating panel. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Just to let you know, I ordered and received #82-316 and # 82-043. Installation was easy and it seems to work fine.

Thanks for your help
