Folding Handle for 39-316

Home Owner from Iowa, USA
Does the 39-316 operator work with the 39-107FK folding handle and cover, or the 39-375 folding handle and cover?

If both are compatible, does it matter which one I choose? Does one have a shorter profile from the window to keep the outside edge farther away from blinds? Is there a third choice I should be considering but didn't notice?

Hello! The 39-316 operator is not compatible with the 39-375 cover, unfortunately. The 39-316 actually already has a cover, but it's permanently affixed to the base. It cannot be replaced or removed.

The 39-375 wouldn't fix your problem anyway. While there are other folding handles you can try, the issue is that no matter how low a handle folds it will never be able to go lower than the full length of the spline. That's the metal post onto which the handle attaches: that cannot be adjusted or lowered and it will always get in the way of your blinds. It just sticks out too far.

Your only option is to pack the blinds out in such a way as to make way for the operator.

Is there another operator besides the 39-216 which I could use?

There is no operator that would have lower clearance, if that's what you're asking. Regardless of what you use, the stem is still going to stick up by a set amount. There's just no way to get around it.

I'm very sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Operator manufacturers just don't really think about blind installation when they design their hardware. Your only option is to make room for the operator.
