Thanks for posting. These old 'tank tread' rollers are no longer made. However, we've had people successfully use the 81-279 as a replacement. The adjustment screw sits a little higher than on your old roller, but the wheel runs nicer than the noisy treads. Let us know what you think.

Hi,
I purchased 81-279 to replace the old roller as shown in this thread. The glass panel seemed to be lower than the originally installed and the top part Is almost out of the trail. I wonder if you have a higher roller or any suggestions to check the door sill? Thanks

Our 81-278 has a 1-1/2" diameter wheel, compared to the 81-279's 1-1/4" wheel. They otherwise have the same housing. Look it over and see if that will solve your issue.

Thanks for the reply. 81-278 with 1 1/2" diameter wheel has higher capability than 11/4"?  If so, I would like to switch it.  Is it possible to switch the rollers or I have to purchase the new one and return the previously purchased? Please advise. thanks. Bill

I'm not sure what you mean by higher capability. The 81-278 and 81-279 are effectively the same roller but with a different wheel size. If you meant to ask that the 81-278 sits higher in the frame as a result of its wheel size, then yes that is correct.

You will need to return the roller you purchased and then place a new order for the other size. See our return policy here.
