Gear cranks rusted/inoperable

Home Owner from Hawaii

I have a number of manual windows that are hard to open/close. The gears on the one pictured are completely "frozen"; we're hoping to buy one, and if it works, then proceed to order more (both left and right cranks). Please help to identify a suitable replacement.

Thank you,

Hey there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. This operator looks like it could be a match for the 39-253RB or 39-439B. The best match will depend on the guide used at the end of the operator's arm. I recommend watching the video below, it'll go over exactly what I mean.

If you need a new cover and handle, see the 39-452 (sold separately).

Thanks for your assistance in identifying the parts; your online videos are also helpful. I registered on your site and have two related questions before placing my first order.
1) The screws (6, I think) that mount the "dual arm operator" into the window sill are corroded/locked into place. We cannot unscrew without stripping the drive. Any suggestions?
2) I saw something on your website called a "balance screw plug", do I need those as well to put in place before using a new screw? (Assuming I can get the old ones out.)
Thank you

It is a little difficult to remove screws that are corroded or with stripped heads. I would suggest drilling out the screw heads and then possibly using a set of vise grip pliers to grab the screw and remove the rest of the screw. As for some type of anchor into the window sill, I would try using a little longer screw to go deeper into the sill. Take a look at the 33-016 screw or possibly a little longer.
