Guardian door handle is incorrect

I have a guardian sliding glass door. The handle here I know is incorrect and we have had many smashed fingers with it. Is there a handle you suggest to replace it with?

This handle set looks like our 82-002 Flush Mount Handle Set. We do sell inside pulls compatible with these types of handle sets--see the 88-002 for instance; but unfortunately no option exists for the outside pull, nor to replace this entire flush mount design outright. One possibility though would be to see if you could adapt the 82-005 Surface Mount Handle Set to this application. You'd need to find a way to cover the old cavity for the flush mount set, and also drill new holes to install it. Take a look and see what you think.
