Help Identifying Non-Tilt Window Channel Balances

Home Owner from Tacoma, WA, USA

Hello! I need some help identifying and replacing my non-tilt window balance. One of the two balances recently fell down the window frame as I lifted the window to open it (vertical up/down opening, not a sliding horizontal left/right). There was a broken cord/string inside that fully came out of the balance when I removed the balance from the window frame.

If it's helpful, the house was built in 1994; not sure if they are original balances, but have been here at least since I bought the house in mid-2017.

Total length: 22"

Metal balance width: 1/2"

Top guide and bottom shoe width: 7/8"

Markings: 20 3 KQ CALDWELL

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello! Thanks for reaching out to us.

We're happy to look into this, but we would also like to see an image of the inside of the balance’s metal channel, where the innerspring connects to the pulley mechanism; this connection is located in the middle of the channel.

Additionally, can you measure the bottom shoe as shown below and write out what you get?

Hi Emily, thank you for your response!
I think the pulley is the part that broke, but I've attached side and top-down photos of the piece that connects it to the innerspring.
The bottom shoe measures 1" in depth.
Thanks again!

Awesome; these photos are perfect! Based on the information we have, I recommend the S380-21 with the 2030 stamp option. This balance has a 1" deep shoe as well. Take a look and let me know if you have any questions.

You absolutely rock, thank you so much! That was one of the two options that I suspected it might be. I just went ahead and set myself up to be notified when you guys get that piece back in stock. Thank you again for your help, I really appreciate you!
