The length of the balance is 30". The depth of the shoe is 1 1/8". The stamped markings are 29 4 BS1.

Hi, thanks for the excellent photos. It appears you're looking for an S395-30 with stamp option 2940. Good luck repairing!

I have another size window I need balances for. They are the same manufacturer as the previous ones just a different height. The numbers stamped on the balance are 28 4 AW CMC 2. Do I need to remove the balance for a height measurement also? The total window height is 56" for these windows compared to 70" for the previous request. Thank you.

Going by your "stamp" number you other window should use the S395-29 balance with a 2840 spring strength option. You should check the shoe heel to toe measurement to make sure it matches the 15-001 bottom attachment on the Series 395 balance. If everything matches up, you should be in good shape and we've added a few videos to assist you.
