Help identifying shoe for 27" window balance. 15-001 vs. 15-002

Hi there,

I am trying to replace a spring channel balance for a non-tilt sliding window. The channel is stamped 2640 and measures 27" long by 1/2" inside width. There is a smaller stamp that reads "3.S.I" and "AK." The plastic top and shoe have no numbers or markings that I can find.

From browsing the photos in your catalog, I'm pretty sure the top is part #19-005. The shoe is probably #15-001, but might be 15-002. My shoe width is just a hair over 1 1/16" deep, which is just a little smaller than the 1 1/8" listed for the 15-001. When I look at your comparison photos for 15-001 vs. 15-002, the 15-001 looks more correct based on shape and proportions. What do you think?

Thanks,
Heather

Hey, Heather. It is very likely that this is the 15-001. These shoes are known to wear down a little over time and use, which would account for why yours is a little smaller. See our Series 395 channel balance.
