Help with window balance replacement parts

A home owner from New York, United States says:
Hi, have an old window and I need to replace what i think is called the balance (the coil & roller parts...sorry if this is not the correct name).
I attached a two pics to hopefully help figure out what I need... I'm not sure if this is one piece that broke apart or its multiple pieces that I have to order ?
The window pane weighs around 14lbs.

Thanks
Ian

Hi, Ian.

It looks like you need a new coil balance. Specifically, you appear to have our 15-087 pivot shoe, which uses the Series 180 coil springs, 15-086 coil housing and 16-024 mounting bracket. We recommend comparing the dimensions to your old hardware to ensure everything matches up.

Look for a number or code stamped on the spring itself to see what weight you'll need. If there aren't any numbers, you'll need to remove and weigh your window sash and divide the sash weight by the number of coils on both sides of the window to determine the correct strength option.

Keep in mind, these parts are sold separately so you only need to replace what's broken. If there's a part that's in good shape, you can re-use it.
