Hidden door latch

Question

Hello! We have two sets of these sliders, one of them the latch works great and the other not so much.  It just doesn't seem to bring the latch up high enough to catch the other piece.  They are very unique so would love to get them working, but it doesn't seem like I can access the latch hardware from the side as is normal?I'm just a little nervous to pull the handles off if the latch will fall into the door frame (or come apart and I have no idea how to reassemble).  Any help is appreciated!

You have an older style Keller patio door handle set. The bad news is that these handles are no longer available, unfortunately. What I have done in the past was to use the 82-005 surface mounted patio door handle. I found that it worked well as a replacement. The 82-005 does come with a keeper, but I'm not sure if it will fit in your frame properly. You may need the 89-012 type, which is sold separately.
