How I determine my sash weight? If I buy a pair of lifts that are for a higher sash weight than I actually need would it be detrimental?

The only way to determine your sash weight is to remove it from the window and place it on a scale. We do not recommend going higher than what you need; it is possible to have a balance that is too strong! It would not work properly and could even damage your window.

How do I remove and install these "Take Out Clips" from the window track?
I need to weigh the window for block and tackle replacement but one take out clip is missing. I need to "Steal" one from another window in order to remove the window to weigh it. This is getting to be a pain in the butt for what should be an easy fix.

The 16-002 take out clip is not designed by the manufacturer to be removed, so the only way to take one out is to break it. This means you won't be able to use them between windows. If you just want a temporary measure, I recommend installing a screw in the track. It should work under the same principle.
