I just remodeled my home built in 1980. I think my sliding door to patio is the original. The mechanisms are clunky and the little black lock/unlock switch freezes up.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Your old handle set is no longer available, but we recommend the 82-030. This measures 3-15/16" on the installation hole centers and is available in various color options. Review the specifications and see what you think. 

Note that it also sounds like your mortise lock may need to be replaced if the handle's thumb lever is freezing up. If that's the case, see if the specifications of the 82-265 matches yours.
