I need a keeper but would like to add or change so that i can have a handle to the outside

I need a keeper but i would also like to change the outside so that I have a handle to the outside. Please help. I have picked up a few keepers from lowes and none have worked.

Hello! I feel confident that we can help you with this project. I'm not sure what keepers you used before, but your mortise at least looks similar to our 82-260. This itself is compatible with our 82-249. Assuming your old mortise is a match for our 82-260, then logically our 82-249 is what you want. Look it over and see what you think.

As for the handles, can you show me a clearer photo of the inside and outside? Can you also tell me the distance between the two screw holes, center-to-center?
