I need a lock assembly similar to the 82-265, but with both hooks pointing downward.

I have an issue with my patio sliding glass door lock assembly. The top lock is remaining in the locked position and not allowing me to open the door. I need a lock similar to the 82-265, but both of my locks point downward. Do you have any other locks besides the 82-238 and the 82-265? How do I know which one will work. I purchased a sliding door from Lowes about 3 years ago. They couldn't help me with a replacement. It was either a Jeld-Wen or a Reliabilt door with green tinted UV glass, I am still trying to locate the paperwork. Is there an easy way to just choose the lock and replace it with screw distance measurements? I have photos of the current lock. Thank you.

Thanks for writing in. I'm afraid this kind of mortise lock isn't made anymore. The 82-265 is your best bet as a substitute; but as you noted, the configuration of the hooks are different. Therefore, you'd also need to replace your current keeper with our 82-249. We are not certain if this will work, but it's the best replacement we can offer at this time.
