The metal tube lenght is 28.5 inches. The diameter is 3/8 of a inch. There is a vinyl tube over metal tube. On the window lock it said Acorn. Thank You. Randy

Thanks for posting, Randy. We should be able to help, but I had a few questions. First, can you confirm the length of the tube? These balance tubes usually have lengths that end on the inch. Can you also tell me if the window is tilt or non-tilt? Finally, what is the weight of the sash?

I confirm the metal tube is 28.5 inches. Bottom sash is tilt. Top is fixed. The weight is 19.4 pounds. Thanks

Thank you for clarifying! Now, as you may know, Acorn is out of business. In their catalog for Series 3000 and 3300, they used 3/8" diameter balances for windows up to 25". For anything above that they switch to a 5/8" diameter. They also did not use balance lengths that ended on the 1/2". I recommend our S600-29 spiral balance with a Blue Tip as a replacement. Check it out and see if this will work in your window, especially since it's a larger size. I think it should be okay, but double check just in case I'm wrong. If you need the pivot shoe, I think you should consider our 15-046, as well.
