Hi there!
Please see our 82-265 and compare our dimensions to yours to see how they match up.
When it comes to mortise locks, you need to use what you have. I know you said you wanted to replace it with a multi point security lock, but could you go into more detail as to what you had in mind?

I worked it out. I wound up getting the multi point lock that is in the pictures. I removed the sub standard lock that comes on a 50 series door. I then Cut a larger mortise and installed the multi point lock. The part that attaches to the jamb had to be shimmed 1/4". That wasn't much of a problem though. So, should someone have the same issue, you can tell them with confidence that it can be done and I would suppose, sell them a lock.
Incidentally, the 70 series door comes with the superior multi point lock. ( that's where I got the multi point that I used)
Thanks for responding
