Identify replacement balance bar

Home Owner from Bluffton, SC
My balance bar is 27 inches long. It is for a vinyl single hung window that was installed in 2008.

Hello there!

Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm not able to identify the balance shown here, unfortunately. There should be some type of shoe that goes with it, perhaps still in the window track. Can you confirm? It'd also be a huge help if we could see a photo of it, preferably removed from the window.

I have since been able to determine that this is an inverted block and tackle bar. The shoe is a T style that slides in the bottom of the bar. I hope this additional information helps.

It does, thank you! I recommend the S795-27 channel balance with the 15-195B shoe (sold separately). The video below will show you how to swap them once you receive your order. Your old 26-7 stamp might translate to the 27G stamp (for a sash weighing 34 to 38 pounds) but I recommend you weigh the window sash on a scale to be sure.

Please note that the Series 795 uses a screw tab at the end of the cord, not a hook. If yours has a hook, let me know!

Thanks for the info Emily. Yes this looks exactly like what I have. Regarding the weight, since mine does not have a letter code, I weighed the sash and it comes in at 24 1/2 lbs. Does this mean I should get a "D" balance?
Thanks,
Keith

Yes! I'd recommend the 27D stamp option if your sash weighs 24.5 pounds. A pair of balances with this stamp can carry a sash weighing 22 to 26 pounds.
