Hello,
I have reached out to the general contact form and it was suggested by Jody that I reach out to the research team.
I have ordered a few S400-29 and the 75-005 charging tool. However, I have damaged a couple of balances and a window trying to install them. After I somehow manage to put the tip of the balance into the bracket (which in itself seems pretty difficult) I cannot take the tool out of the small hole. I have spent a couple of hours trying to figure it out but still have not been able to install a single balance. I have looked at the guide for installing the balance, but it is not helpful at all. I have a bracket that is attached inside the side channel (not on the bottom)(like this one Bracket-S-32/pd/Bottom-Sash-Spiral-Balance-Clips/17-026).
So, that when the balance is secured, it is recessed pretty far into the side of the window. Therefore, there is no way to take out the tool.
What is the correct procedure for installing these types of balances without damaging them or the window?
Thank you.

It's very unusual for the side balance bracket to end up so far up the sash that you can't maneuver the 75-005 tool. In this case, I believe you'll need to drop the balance in from the top of the sash, let the spiral unwind, and hook the cross-piece to the balance bracket.
Next, place the installation screw in the hole at the top of the balance and turn the balance tube to charge the spiral. Then, screw the balance tube into the window frame. It will take some time for you to get the hang of it, but I believe you can make it work.
