Internal sliding door latch

Landlord from Las Vegas
The locking latch was broken by renters and I can seem to find a replacement that will fit inside the given latch slot.
Do you have a recommendation?

Hello,

We'd be happy to research this for you but, unfortunately, there's not enough information here to go off of since the part is missing. Can you show us the handle and possible where the latch locked onto when it was still installed?

Thank you for the response tried all weekend multiple hardware stores to find a solution.
Hopefully you can help.

It looks like someone installed a handle set that's meant to work with a mortise lock but, unfortunately, the cutout in the center of your door is not big enough to accommodate a full-sized mortise. My first instinct is that you may be able to use something like our 82-003 with an internal latch built-in.

As a last-ditch effort, you could resort to a surface mounted handle set like our 82-005. Take a look at our product pages and videos we've related for you to determine the best replacement option for your door. Thank you!
