International window

I believe this is an International window. The stamped number on the balance is C 2040. The Balance is 21 inches long and the window weighs 20 lbs. The pivot shoe I believe is the 15-015 on your website. I believe I need a S770, 21 inch, option 21D. Please advise.

Thanks

Hi there Mike.

I'm afraid I can't confirm if the Series 770 is a match without seeing the clip that connects to the pivot shoe. The S770 uses the 15-043 terminal clip so you'll want to make sure your balances do too. The 15-015 also looks like a match so long as the thickness and width match up.

Thanks for your response Emily. I am attaching pictures of the terminal clip on the existing sash balance. I removed the pivot shoe and the dimensions are the same as the 15-015. I look forward to your response and hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

I would appreciate any tips you have for removing the lower, single hung tilt out from the pivot shoes. You don't have any videos that address this issue and I can't find any on line. All the videos I find have the pivot shoe with the slot so the window just pops out.
Thanks,
Mike

Thank you kindly for the additional photos, Mike. I hope you had a restful holiday as well!

Your balance appears to use a terminal clip like the Series 770 so I agree this would make a good match. As for removing the pivot shoes, you will have to make a cut out in the window track. The video below will demonstrate how to do so. Please let me know if you have any further questions!

Hey Emily,
Thanks for the quick response. I don't have a problem removing the pivot shoe. My problem is how to remove the lower sash (window) from the pivot stops. The pivot stops don't have a slot, but rather a hole that the sash (window) tabs need to slip into from the side of the pivot shoe, not the top of the pivot shoe. Any help would be appreciated in this regards.
Thanks,
Mike

We aren't entirely sure what you're describing. Are you referring to the pivot bar, like the 26-040, at the bottom of the sash that slips into the pivot shoe? Would we be able to see a photo of the problem area on the sash?
