Jeld wen window bottom seal and balance replacement

Hello,

we have some Jeld wen windows , series 9980/9980p, h-r20-48x77 / h-r25-44x60

The balancing springs are very noisy and likely need replaced. Is there something else I can do to quiet it down first or replacement better?

Balance is 28" long for the metal part covering the spring. I have had trouble finding the right part, can you give me a link for this?

Also, the seal on the bottom of the window is broken and needs replaced, is this the right part to replace that?

Hello,

We'd be happy to help but a squeaky spring generally means the balances are close to failing, so we recommend replacing them entirely. We'd need to see your balance fully removed from the window jamb to confirm the correct replacement. Please include the T-lock shoe, pulley clip, and stamp code on the metal channel. We'll relate a few videos on this page to assist you.

As for the seal, we are not able to make out exact dimensions from photos but I agree that the 58-171 or 58-182 would be our best replacement options. Review the specifications below to confirm the best match. Thank you!

I am not sure how to get the balance out but I did get a few close pictures. The balance says 28b bsi on it. the shoe says 4610 and a few characters that are hidden. Is this enough or are there some videos to show removal?

Thanks for getting back to us. The additional photos help but we would still need to see the balance uninstalled to determine the type of shoe and pulley clip needed for your replacements. You would reverse the installation process shown at time stamp 3:15 in the video below to remove the original balances.

It looks like you have a version of the S795-28 (28B) channel balance except yours uses the 15-198 pulley clip, which we can supply but it will need to be a custom order. It also looks like you have the 15-194 T-lock shoe, which you would need to purchase separately and swap out the larger 1-1/4" wide T-lock shoe that comes with these balances by following the video below. We'll just need to confirm the number of balances that you need, with the minimum being two, to send over an order link and price quote. Thank you!

Can you send me a quote for 24 balances? And also 4 of 58-182 as part of that quote.

Great, we just sent over an order link and price quote for the balances you requested. Please note that we are not able to add stock parts to the link but you can add the 15-194 T-lock shoes and 58-182 seals to the same order by adding them to your cart from our product pages. Take a look and let us know if you need anything else. Thank you!
