Keeper for patio door mortise lock

Question

I replaced the mortise lock with part 82-265 : Multi-Point Mortise Lock with Face Plate, 11". The lock does not set with the original keeper anymore. I can manipulate the lock to sit on the keeper, but is not very secure. Would I need to also replace the keeper or other issue going on here? I did not change the location of the keeper or lock set.

Thanks for posting, and sorry to hear of your trouble with the 82-265. Past customers have reported that replacing the old keeper with the 82-249 solves the problem you're referring to. Another possibility would be to pack out your existing keeper with washers, so that way it interfaces correctly with the 82-265. Let me know if you have further questions.
