Kerf weather stripping

Quick Learner from Anacortes, WA

I have pile WS around the doors of my boat. I need to replace them. Kerf is 3/8" deep and maybe 1/4" wide at the bottom of the pile. I would guess the pile was 3/9" to 1/4" in depth above the kerf.

Any chance you have this or know who might?

Thanks, Ian

Thanks for writing in. Generally our hardware isn't necessarily compatible with marine applications, and I'm afraid you may be better off finding a store that specializes in boating hardware. Those kerf dimensions sound a bit large for what we carry--however if you want to be safe, send us a picture of the end profile of one of your seals, along with double-checking the dimensions, and we can see what we have. In the time being, view our selection of weatherstripping here

Thanks for getting back to us. We don't have an exact match for this seal, since we don't carry a pile that attaches with a kerf. However it's possible our 58-053 might work as a substitute. I can't be certain, as this is a bulb seal, but it installs the same way and the dimensions might be comparable. Take a look at the cross-section below, compare to your old seal, and see what you think.
