Kitchen window, 25 lb bottom pane 45.5" x 31.5"

Window balance plastic piece on rod end has broken through and will not hold spring tight. I cannot find a matching window balance anywhere. Not sure if a spiral balance will work or not. Any idea what kind of balance this is?

Thank you

I've since learned this is an old style block and tackle window balance. How do I measure to replace it with a spiral tilt window balance?

Hello,

You are correct that your rod-style balance is no longer made but we do not recommend using a spiral balance as a replacement. You should be able to use one of our channel balances for your repair but we would need to see the bottom fitting attached to an undamaged version of your rod balance to confirm the correct replacement. From there, we should be able to guide you more effectively. Thank you!

Thanks for getting back to us! Take a look at the video below which shows the process of converting your crossbow-style rod balances to our Series 795 channel balances. Before you place an order, I would recommend confirming that the spring of your balance measures 1/2" in diameter. If so, you should be good to go.

Thank you. Yes the spring is 1/2 inch. The crossbow balance is 30.5" long, the T is 1.25" wide. The window is 25lb. The pivot bar looks to match the 26-021. See attached photo.

So, I think I can order
Balance S795-30 (30D) x 2,
pivot bar 26-021 x 2,
T-lock balance shoe 15-195 x 2

Does that sound right?

Thank you

I agree that the parts that you picked out are correct based on the specifications you've provided but keep in mind that the S795-30 channel balance comes with the 15-195 t-lock shoe already attached.
