Knife-Lock Window Balances

A contractor from Louisville, KY says:

Hi,

I'm doing a repair to several windows made by Semco, in which the knife lock shoes have become brittle with age and broken. Would you perhaps be familiar with this manufacturer and could simply verify if the knife lock shoe available on your site is the correct replacement? Based on the images, it appears to me they are the same.

The part previously referred to is 15-014

Thank you,Steven

Bob from SWISCO responded:

Hi Steve. I think we can help you replace these balances. But I want to be safe about a few things. First, could you show us the balances removed from the windows? I can't tell whether the metal channels are straight or ribbed. You can see the difference on this page here. I'd also like to see how the top of the balances attach to the jamb track. Finally, your stamp codes are a little weird. Would you be able to weigh each window sash? We can then match that precise weight with the stamp options you need. Many thanks.
