Kohltech double hung Pivot shoe - 2009

A home owner from Farmington, CT 06032 says:

I have some pictures and Kohltech product information - see attached. The windows are tilt in but I do not see how this shoe allows removal of the sash. You may want to recommend a different shoe.

Teh tab on the pivot shoe broke off. Can you ecommend a replacement? I am agreeable to replace the right and left pivot shoe if you don not have an exact match.

The track size is 1 5/16" wide (most likely 1 1/4" as it is very difficult to measure accurately) and 5/8" deep. It looks like the tab on the spring is a round hole and not a "T" tab.

This is a very peculiar pivot shoe. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. Can you confirm its width and thickness?  You'll want to remove it first before you measure, you won't get an accurate measurement as long as it's in the window. Can you also tell me the thickness of the spring?

In the meantime, I'll send this to my colleague Paul. He knows a lot more about coil balances than I do and he may have a few ideas.

Paul from SWISCO responded:

We believe the coil spring is similar to our 1/2" wide Series 152 that has a hole on the end to attach to the pivot shoe. From your dimensions, we feel you can replace the pivot shoe with our 15-177. However, you will need a 33-071 screw to attach the coil spring to the pivot shoe. I can't confirm for sure your pivot bar will fit into the shoe. We ask to have you please send another photo, along with detailed dimensions for us to confirm. I have also placed some helpful videos on this page for you to review.
