I need the piece that the lock slides into to lock my new handle wont fit?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by your handle not fitting, but if you have the 82-265 Mortise Lock, see our 82-249 Keeper. If the throw of the lock doesn't quite reach the keeper, you'd need to shim the keeper out a bit. Let me know if you have any questions.
