Lock & Handle for Outdoor Sliding Glass Door

Question

What product can you offer to fix or replace the lock and/or handle for my outdoor sliding glass door.  The lock stopped working and when i opened it up the parts just fell off.  Could i just buy the lock and reuse the handles?

Thanks for writing in. Ordinarily, I'd say yes, you could just replace the outside key lock with our 82-315; but I'd make sure that the mortise lock inside the door is not broken. To check this, remove the handle set and then try to manually 'flip' the handle set with a flathead screwdriver. If the lock fails to 'flip', then you will need to replace the mortise lock as well. See our 82-265. If you want to go ahead and order a new handle set, something like our 82-086 should work for you. See what you think.
