I bought the 82-226 4 5/8" mortise lock and the 82-106 turning lever. However, before installing them, I found the existing door handle base added extra thickness that might prevent the lever from reaching the turning slot on the lock. Also, the hole on the existing handle doesn?t seem to be able to keep the lever in place, do you have a lever that reaches deeper? Will the level hold if it reaches the slot? Thanks for a solution. Thank you for your questions. We do not offer a deeper version of the 82-106. Have you tried installing the part to see if it fits and working properly? If you have, get back to us and let us know what happens when you install it.

It wouldn't reach the mortise slot. Now I have another question, that is, do you have a handle that go with the 82-226 mortise lock and the lever I bought. I am thinking about replace a suitable handle might solve the problem. I would appreciate your advice.

There are a number of different handles that can work with the 82-226. Let's have you send us a photo of your current handle set and we will see what options are available for you.
