Looking for new balance replacement parts

Home Owner from College Station, TX
I'm not the original owner of the house, but I'm a pretty handy guy. I'd like to replace these myself to save a few bucks. I'm not totally sure the manufacturer of the window (couldn't find any branding, which is wild), but I think it might have been Champion windows (called them, total dead-end). This balance unit looks similar in structure to the Series 770 (S770-28) I found on your site, but has different hardware for attachment. If I could find similar hooks (been looking, no luck yet), I could just attach them to the pin at the bottom and then find some hook pieces and replace the top hardware piece, but thought I'd check with the experts first. They are 28 inches long, about 1/2 inch wide. "28C" is printed on the back as well as "CJ BSI AV" (used those to search as well, nothing really came up). I'd be happy to purchase similar hardware from Swisco if I could make it work!

Hello,

We've seen a similar balance configuration to yours in the past, which uses the S795 channel balance with an s-clip like the 19-029 attached to the bottom instead of the T-lock shoe. Luckily the shoe can be easily removed by following the video below.

You'll also notice that our balance cones with a screw clip at the end of the pulley instead of a hook like yours. Since the cutout in your jamb is square, you should be able to install the 26-200 screw plug so that you can attach the screw clip of the S795-28 (28C) balances. Take a look and let us know if you need anything else.
