Hello, My name is Eric and I own Clear Results Glass and am looking for some specific balances for a customer. I attached some pictures but was not able to tell much else about them. Can you help? I need to purchase 3 sets or 6 total.

Hello,

We'd be happy to look into this for you but we'll need to see the pivot shoe and coil springs fully removed from the window to compare to our inventory. We'll also need you to write out the exact width and thickness of the pivot shoe. See the videos related on this page to assist you in the meantime. Thank you!

1 1/4'' wide pivot
1/2'' thick pivot

5/8'' thick spring

Your pivot shoe resembles the 15-141 at first glance but the style of the cam is different. We'd like to see photos of the pivot bar that installs in the cam removed from the sash to confirm if it would be compatible with our shoe.

Please note that this shoe is compatible with the 1/2" wide Series 150 coil springs. I'd also recommend double-checking the size of your coils since they shouldn't be larger than the thickness of the pivot shoe.

You want me to remove that bar from the sash? Or you want me to remove the sash from the window and a take a picture of it with the bar in the sash but removed from the window?

We'll need to see the pivot bar fully removed from the sash as demonstrated in the video below.

The guy I sent to get the pictures didn't pull the bar completely out but he took a picture of it in there. But these pictures do show what would enter the the balance.

Thanks for getting back to us. Based on your additional photos, I'd suggest using the 26-040 pivot bar for the window sash. Going back to the pivot shoe, Casey is correct that you have the 15-141 pivot shoe but the coil springs are discontinued.

As an alternate solution, I suggest using the 15-158 pivot shoes with Series 152 coil springs and 33-071 attaching screw. Review the specifications shown on our product pages and see what you think.

That looks like it will work. How much is it for a pair of those? And how much is shipping? I'm thinking of just ordering a couple to test out on one window and if it works out then order more. How long before I would be able to get a set of these?

Besides physically putting the sash on a scale, how else might I find the correct lbs for the coil spring?

You would need to physically weigh the sash to confirm the corresponding strength options since you will be converting the window to use different coil springs. The sash weight would be divided by the number of coils you'll be using on both sides to calculate the strength options for each coil.
