Louisiana Pacific Casement Window Crank Assembly

Quick Learner from West Virginia

I have 18 Louisiana casement style windows in the home I built in 1987. I have two gear assemblies which no longer work. It isn't the small worm gear just beneath the crank handle. It is the gear assembly which the crank and worm gear turn to open and close the windows. Where can I find parts?

There are both left and right crank/gear assemblies. I need two lefts and one right. Here are photos. Note, it is not the worm gear which is bad. The crank gear housing boxes are cracked/broken.

Thanks!

Hi there. I'm pretty confident we can help you replace this operator, but it's a bit difficult for me to say the link arm(s) in the photos you show. It would be best to see an entire operator from a 'bird's eye' view, preferably removed from the window or at least with the window open, with the link arm(s) in full-view. This will help us identify any possibly replacement. Many thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me Bob. I hope these pictures help. You can see the crack in the window crank assy gear box and you can see that the linkage attaches to the bottom of the window itself by a simple slide catch clip. If you want measurements for the assemblies I can measure both inside the housing beneath the wood and the interior portion of the crank assembly which is inside the house. It appears to me that the crank assemblies are held into the window via two #2 phillips screws.

Thank you! See our 39-387 and 39-388 split arm operators. I think you'll find these match up quite well.

Bob, here are a couple of more pics for you to review if you'd be so kind. The arms on my operators are slightly different in length. Not really sure how that would throw off the geometry...The arm with the gear as you can see by the marker on my ruler is right at 4 3/4" from the worm gear(where the handle mounts) to the hole for the pivit of the second arm. The second arm you drawing shows 3 1/8" but mine is 3 1/2". IF these will work, I do not like putting my credit card number on the internet. Is there a number I can use to call in my order.

IF they will work I will need one left handed operator (handle mounts or right side of operator facing it inside the house and one of the handles 39/388 in BRONZE.

If the photos and measurements I sent you will work, that would mean for starters I'd need

39-388 Operator

39-1446 Handle (Bronze)

If this one works I can then replace the remaining 2 or three which are bad or going bad.

Thanks!

I'm afraid I couldn't find an operator with a link arm closer in size to yours. Our 39-388 may still work as-is, but if not you can always move the mounting bracket over to make up the difference.

You can place your order directly on our site, if you wish. We do not save any credit card information and we promise that your information is secure with us. You can place a call and have us order it for you, but you should know that we'd still be placing the order through our site.

You can reach us at 856-317-6263. We're open Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4:30PM EST.
