The multiple windows in my home have the same problem. They will not stay open when raised from the bottom or will drop as soon as the lock is released.
The issue seems to be that the balance is broken.
These are MW windows installed when the house was new. The house is now 20 years old.
I've attached pictures of the balance. There are no markings on the the balance.
The picture entitled "broken end" shows the end of the balance that is broken.
Can I purchase these balances or the part of the balance that is broken?
