Merzon Window Balancers

Quick Learner from Meadow Vista, Ca

Replacing pair of 3330 likely with 3320s to ease closing.

This is a trial run, and if these balancers work, more windows balancers will be ordered.

Looks like the S390 series would work?

Will need takeout clips too. Curious, the takeout clips would be placed just above mid window frame, which is lower than that shown in the how to video?

Thank you!

I agree; if the shoe has a depth (or heel-to-toe measurement) greater than 1", the Series 390 is the best match in this case. Even if the shoe's depth is less than 1-1/8", which is the measurement of the Series 390 shoe, it's likely just slightly worn down from age.

Barring some issue with the original balances, we always advise sticking with the stamp option your balances originally used. Balances weaker than your original balances will make the windows difficult to open and keep open. The weight range for balances stamped 3330 is 18 through 23 pounds. The weight range for balances stamped 3320 is 13 through 18 pounds. You can weigh your sash to confirm it fits in the range of the 3330, but unless you ever had issues with these windows prior to the balances failing, we highly advise sticking with the original stamp.

Finally, the 16-002 take-out clip being in a different location shouldn't be an issue. This can vary from window to window. Let me know if you have further questions.
