Milgard Window Balancer Shoe Replacement Part

Handy Person from Muskego, WI
I have Milgard tilt in windows in my condo, which was built in 2009. I just had a balancer shoe break. I believe the correct replacement part is 15-195. The locking shoes (that hold the windows from sliding when tilted in) look different from mine to yours. Dimensions match (1 1/4 wide, 1 7/8 high). The current balancers attach to the windows via METAL hooks. The balancers work just fine.

Is the 15-195 shoe correct?

thanks

Thanks for writing in. This certainly looks like our 15-195 T-Lock Shoe, but with one major difference: this T-Lock Shoe has a 'groove' in the stem that is meant to interface with a similar groove in the channel balance itself. Unfortunately, this means that you will need to replace the entire channel balance, which is our Series 795. The good news is that the 15-195 comes installed with our Series 795 balances. If the balance installs with hooks at the top, rather than screwing-in like our Series 795 does, we have a few options. Can you show us a picture of the hole in the wall where this hook installs? That will help narrow down the possibilities. Many thanks.
