Hello we have 2 large Midgard windows that need all new bakancers and shoes, 3 springs each at 9lbs we were told.

1 window needs a new tilt and pivot bar.

We watched the video and don't want to cut the vinyl to remove and install the new balancers is there a special tool that can spread the channel to do so?

Thank you

Hello,

We'd be happy to help but we would need to see intact versions of each part that you need fully removed from the window to compare to our inventory. For the coil springs, please show us the coils and the pivot shoe that they attach to removed from the window jamb. We'll also need to see an undamaged pivot bar removed from the other side or an identical window.

As for the tilt latch, please show us the bottom and side of an intact tilt latch fully removed from the sash opening. We'll relate a few videos on this page to assist you.

Hello Casey. Thanks for the help please see attached picts. I would also like some replacement stops for when we crack the tops of the Windows. Thank you

Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, we don't carry an exact match for your pivot bar, which looks like it may have an offset, but we have a few options that you could consider. Start by reviewing the specifications of our 26-306 and 26-021

Keep in mind that you only need one mounting hole to align with your old pivot bar for a replacement to work, as you really only need to use one mounting hole. Also, please note that the 26-021 lacks the 'offset' that your old pivot bars have but we have found this doesn't really affect the sash compatibility. Take a look and see what you think.

As for the tilt latches, we do not carry an exact match for this part either. To determine if any of our latches might work in its place, please write out the exact dimensions of your latch. The length, width, and height of the body are especially important. We'll also need to see the top of the latch.

Your photos also show a pivot shoe. We can't be sure with the part still installed but the 15-111 would be a good place to start.

As for a sash stop, we do offer the 55-043 but I can't be sure if it would fit in your jamb liner. Review the dimensions below and see what you think.

Hello Casey,
Thank you for the quick feedback. Please see attached pictures and explanations below:

1. I think the 26-306 pivot bar will work although mine has more of a drop almost 1/2". It also has a flange on both ends not sure why.
2. See images for tilt latch it is 2.75" long x .55" tall x .65" wide. The part that slots into the window frame is 2.6" long.
3.That pivot shoe 15-111 measures the same so that's a winner!
4. I was mistaken its not the sash stop I need its the stop that pops out to crack the double hung windows not sure what that is please see picts.

Thank you

We do not carry a pivot bar with the same offset as yours but that hasn't been a deal breaker in the past. If the dimensions of the 26-306 match yours part of the than the offset, I agree that it would be worth a try.

Unforutnately, we do not carry an exact match for your tilt latches. The 26-243 and 26-244 are a similar style but they measure 2-5/8" long. I'm sorry that we can't provide a closer match at this time but we'll include the specifications from our product page below.

As for the vent latch shown in your photos, see the 26-122

Perfect Thanks Casey, could you point me to the triple coil I need all but 2 are broken so I was going to get 8 of them. I think this is the last piece to the puzzle. Thank you

As long as the specifications of your pivot shoe match the 15-111, you could also use the 15-191 heavy-duty version. Unforutnately, balance assemblies like the S210 would not work as a replacement since it is a different size and operate differently from your original coil balance.

As for the coil springs, you would need to remove yours from the window to locate the numbers stamped on them, which you'll use to choose the corresponding strength options for the S160 coil springs. See the 15-150T triple support used with these coils.
