Mortise lock and keeper

Question

What do you suggest to replace this mortise lock and keeper. The backset on your 82-260 is not as deep as mine. Also My back set has right angles while yours is tapered.

Thanks for writing in! Hm, I was unable to find a mortise latch with the same back set like your own. Not I'm not sure of this, but can you separate the face plate from your mortise lock? If so, you could possibly try to swap face plates with the 82-260 lock and see then if the back set would match up. Just keep in mind that you can't return any modified hardware. Let us know what you think.
