Bedroom windows won't stay open

Home Owner from Faribault Minnesota
I have 2 older (house built in 1999) crestline windows that slide up and down and tilt in when you press the side piece in for cleaning. Both of the bedroom windows will not stay open. They slam shut. I am not handy nor is my husband so I'm not sure if we could even fix them on our own? Do you know of anyone who fixes (not replaces) windows as old as these?

Hello,

I can't be sure but you may be showing a broken version of a friction shoe similar to the 15-104. Take a look and compare an intact part to the specifications below.

We do not handle in-person repairs but a Google search for professionals that work on older windows with jamb liners should provide plenty of options. Thanks for posting.
