Need Replacement Channel Balance

Quick Learner from Apopka, Florida
I need replacements for four of my channel balances. The channel balances are 35" long, 1/2" wide and marked "3435".

Thanks for posting. Can you show us pictures of the nylon attachments at either end of the balance? We need to see them to confirm what balance Series you have. Finally, your stamp number of 3435 is a little odd. These stamp numbers indicate the amount of weight you need your balances to support. Could you weigh your window sash? We can then match that precise weight with the exact stamp option you need. Many thanks.

Weight of sash is 25 lbs. I am attaching photos. I may also need replacement pieces on upper corner of sash, which engages with upper end of channel balance.

Thanks for the added photos, as well as weighing your sash. See either our S380-35 or S385-35. The only difference between these two Series is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe. With the Series 380 the depth of this nylon shoe is 1", whereas with the Series 385 it is 1-3/32". Compare with your own and see what is best.

If your sash weighs 25 lbs, then our stamp option of 3440 should work for you. This is meant for a window sash in the weight range of 23 through 30 lbs. Let us know if you have any questions.

It sounds like you also might need to replace your Top Sash Guides, the piece on the top corners of the window sash that keep the channel balances in place. If so, just remove one of your top sash guides from the window and show us 'mugshot pictures' of the front and side. From there, we will see if we can identify a replacement.

Ah, perfect. This looks like our 18-161. However, yours appears to be in good condition. If they aren't damaged in any way, you wouldn't need to replace them. If they are broken after all, then I'm confident that our 18-161 would work as a replacement.

Thanks for the photos. See our 18-161 Top Sash Guide. Compare the dimensions listed with your old part, and see if you think it's what you need.
