To confirm that this is the right replacement, carefully look over the dimensions and compare them to your existing handle set. You'll especially want to confirm the placement of the thumb lever and the distance between the installation holes.

Your mortise lock reminds me of the 82-265 Multi-Point Mortise Lock, which is used with a faceplate. To confirm if this is the right fit for your door, you'll need to carefully compare the dimensions for the complete mortise lock including the faceplate. Take a look and see what you think.

In regard to the handle set, the backplate measurement will not make much difference in the function of the handle. The second diagram was provided to point out the offset position of the thumb lever. Since the installation holes are a match, the handle should work find.

I would suggest double checking the dimensions for the installation holes on the mortise lock. Unfortunately, if they truly aren't a match, I'm afraid we would not be able to supply you with a replacement for your mortise lock.
