Need exterior, keyed, locking handle for sliding glass door

Quick Learner from Bellevue, WA

My door has two issues with it:

1) The frame is no longer square (this is true of the two sliding doors upstairs, too, all on the same wall as this one). This means that the current locking mechanism is about 1/4 inch away from being able to catch the spot on the doorway where it secures the door to the frame. (see just to the right of the '3' on my measuring tape

--I need a replacement for this system where I can install a separate hook in the doorway.

2) The current handle only locks from the inside. I need one that locks from the outside as well, but with a key.

I have a variety of tools that can help me with installation, including a Bosch oscillating tool with saw attachments.

Your handle resembles our 82-063. The related exterior locking handle is no longer available, though, I'm afraid. You might be able to use our 82-005 and 82-306 keyed exterior handle as a replacement. Take a look at see what you think.

As for your doors all being out of square on the same wall, that worries me. Why should all your doors be out of square on the same wall in the house? Your foundation could be settling on that location of the house.
