Hey there,

The sash is failing to say open because the coil assembly is damaged. I am confident we can provide you with the replacements, but I'll need to see an unobstructed view of the balance housing to determine the correct replacement. You'll need to remove the window sash to obtain this photo.

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you might have in the meantime.

Hello,

Thanks for the photos. Once I have the photos of the assembly, I'll be able to confirm the replacements needed for the repairs.

Thanks for the additional photos. Your coil assemblies can be replaced with the 15-087 Coil Housing Pivot. This housing uses the Series 180 Coil. I believe your housing is stamped with a 6, so you'd need the S180-06.

The coil is anchored to the window channel using the 16-031 Mounting Bracket.

I noticed your pivot bar appears to have rusted on one side of the window. That said, it may be a good idea to replace them as well. The 15-087 typically uses the 26-040 but there are a few others compatible with it. If this pivot bar is not a match, please send me a photo of yours and I'll be happy to identify it.
